French Visitors

About Alan Kennedy (by Alan Kennedy)

I began writing fiction about 15 years ago, initially producing a series of novels for children.  The first of these (The Boat in the Bay) was written in the style of an Arthur Ransome story. Having established a cast of  characters (very loosely based on the three Kennedy brothers) two further books, set in France, explored a number of psychological themes. My first adult novel (Lucy) set out what became of one of my characters after a lapse of about twenty years.

The sequel to Lucy takes the form of a novel (A Time to Tell Lies) set in WW2 France ( in fact, set in a fictional village not that far from Marciac). It is a love story dealing with deception, disinformation and fake news.

The most recent novel (The Things That are Lost) , also a love story, is set during the liberation of Paris in 1944.

These novels actually form two inter-linked trilogies.
